  1. Roy C. Cook was my father. I would like to know more about his experiences. He shared a lot with me when I was younger.

    1. Melissa, our WW II section is quite extensive. You will find a huge amount of information about the activities of the 2d Cavalry during that period.

      Just go to the front page of the website and in the menu on the right of the page click on HISTORY BY THE YEAR and then go down to the WW II section and click on it. There are 307 stories ranging from the Regiment’s reactivation at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina in January 1943 to the end of the war in Czechoslovakia May 1945. There are also numerous stories in the WW II Occupation section after the war.

      Thank you for sharing this information about your father and for his service to our country and the 2d Cavalry Regiment. The world is a darker place with his passing.
